Santa Rosa Park, located just south of the Nicaraguan border, features one of the most important portions of tropical dry forest remaining in Central America. Fairly isolated and never crowded, this park is a great choice for nature lovers and bird watchers, in particular. The park offers an amazing variety of trees and other plant life, birds, reptiles, and mammals. Santa Rosa was also the site of an important historic battle in 1856, which you’ll learn about during your visit to the park!

After leaving Santa Rosa, we will go into the city of Liberia, the capital of the Guanacaste region, for lunch, shopping, and a brief tour.
