Monteverde Cloud Rain Forest

Monteverde is where you’ll see the cloud rainforest Costa Rica is famous for. Located in the Tilarian Mountain Range along the Continental Divide, Monteverde is the home of an internationally known wildlife sanctuary consisting of over 10,500 hectacres of land. This preserve has incredible biodiverstiy and is known to contain:

• more than 400 species of birds
• more than 100 species of mammals
• more than 120 species of reptiles and amphibians
• approximately 2,500 species of plants

Canopy Tour

You will spend about 2 hours hiking through this incredible cloud forest preserve, so you will need to be in good physical condition for this tour! Also included will be a tour of a nearby hummingbird gallery where you will get to see several species of these amazing birds.

You are likely to enjoy cool mountain temperatures as we take some time to explore the town of Monteverde, founded by a group of Quaker settlers in 1950. You can just wander around the town for a while, or choose from many additional tour options such as a visit to the Quaker cheese factory, a butterfly farm, serpentarium, canopy tour, or more rainforest hiking!

 

Tour includes:
Fully insured, comfortable, air conditioned transportation, a tri-lingual (English, French, and Spanish), native tour guide, 2 hour rainforest hike, hummingbird gallery. Cost per person is $120 per person. Additional tour options, as noted above, as well as an overnight option, are available upon request.


Bring along:
Camera, binoculars, good hiking shoes, rain gear, change of clothes, insect repellant, and sunscreen.
